Silver sugar sifter from 1816


A very special silver sugar sifter with a pointed oval bowl and smooth handle. The bowl is entirely pierced with a decoration of a country woman who is carrying a yoke with two buckets in front of a farm and a tree. Around this decoration there is a pierced rim of bars which are all engraved. The sugar sifter is made by Jacob van Dijk who lived in Lemmer (Friesland) and was registered as silversmith at the assay office in Sneek.

The sugar sifter is in excellent condition.
